The Texas River
School helps children develop valuable life skills and awareness of the
fragility of all river systems. As children develop these interests, they may
decide to choose a career in an environmental field. Sponsors support these
efforts and ensure that children who participate in this program are given
this unique opportunity to learn about their environment: how to protect,
enjoy, and share with others.
The Texas River
School makes a positive contribution to our community, funded entirely by your
contributions. We
depend on sponsors, people like you, to keep our work afloat.
Texas Parks and Wildlife
recognized the value of the Texas River School program by awarding a
$30,000 grant for the year 2002.
This grant enabled us to provide day trips for about 1,000 students, all
at no cost to the students or to the school. This
competitive grant is awarded every two years. We are therefore developing additional
financial support strategies and fundraising initiatives.
For more information or to
make a tax-deductible contribution, please contact
us. Memberships to the
Chautauqua Foundation are also available. We encourage you to come along on a day trip and
experience the adventure first hand!
