Texas River School
Keeping Our Kids and Rivers Healthy
Our mission is to design and implement effective experiential learning opportunities on the rivers of Texas for all area youth promoting healthy, active, outdoor lifestyles; reinforcing traditional academic subject; teaching and encouraging conservation and thereby helping children to become good citizens, good students and good stewards of themselves and their resources.
The Texas River School is a grassroots, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization founded in 1992 with the intention of providing fun, safe and engaging canoe experiences for grade school students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to be on the water.
To date TRS has provided on the water experiences for over 5,000 area kids.

Congratulations to Andy Sansom the recipient of the Inaugural “Friend of the River Award” presented at PaddleFest’09!
“Andy Sansom is a leader. While we are in our river shorts enjoying the resource, Andy is doing the hard work with the suits in the Legislature, in the offices, wherever he has to be to ensure that our waters are preserved and protected for generations to come.” said Joe Kendall, Texas River School Executive Director.
