Charles Barksdale
Charles has been coaching rowing since 1998. He has taught thousands of people to row and coached at every level from juniors to masters.
Charles has been a US Rowing certified coach since 1998 and has continued improving his coaching skills by attending and hosting rowing clinics for both rowers and coaches.
He has competed in a multitude of sports and this gives his coaching abilities a broad perspective in helping and training rowers.
Charles Barksdale also offers private lesson to all levels for $25 per session.
John Bass
John first started coaching in 1998 and has coached for Amherst College and University of Texas.
He was a member of the national team development camp coached by Olympian John Riley and holds medals from Nationals and the Canadian Henely.
John is also a professional firefighter and EMT for the City of Round Rock.
Renee Fitlow
Renee has her coaching certification with US Rowing. She provides coaching to members who have completed their third introductory lesson. She works with them on rowing technique, blade work, team boat skills, and much more. Her classes are called "The Skills & Drills Squads." Once the rower has graduated her class, they are an efficient rower and go on to compete in races or other desires. She also teaches rowing through private lessons. The cost of one lesson is $35. A series of six lessons is $180.
Renee is an avid rower and spends most of her time on the water rowing with her students. She has competed in several of the Rowing Championship Marathons, winning a gold medal in her team boat each time. She retired from the corporate life six years ago and started a small business. Coaching is her life's desire.
Ronan O'Conner
Ronan is our favorite coach.
Ronan has been rowing for over 20 years and has extensive racing experience through out America and Europe. He is also a US Rowing certified coach.
He is always available on a Saturday morning to help out new rowers or experienced rowers who want to sharpen their technique.
Just look for him out on the launch between 8:30 and 10:00 AM every Saturday!
